Welcoming The New Financial Year: A Note On Corrupt Banking Practices

From hawala to cybercrime and from non-performing assets (NPAs) to wilful defaulters, the Indian financial stress and fraud journey seems to be expanding faster than the universe. All talks about individuals and businesses failing to honor loan repayments but not a word spoken about corrupt banking practices. And evil practices not just by bankers or borrowers involved in the transaction but also by valuers, accountants and everyone who inherently become a part of this complex system.

So after investing a few years in trying to understand how markets work, I finally forayed into the share market today. Investing at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as well as Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), my miniature startup portfolio predominantly includes shares from the renewable energy sector. Intraday trading doesn’t seem like my cup of tea. Equity delivery is what I am after – buy, hold and sell when the time is right. Suzlon, Orient Green Power, Indowind, Indosolar, Moserbaer, Tata Power and Steel Authority of India are what I have started with.
